Rhythm - an exploration of musicality, rhythm, and choreography - A Practical workshop for Magicians
If you have ever performed in an environment with loud background noise, or music, then you will know how important it is to be able to communicate the premise, the plot, and the payoff of our magic without the ability to be heard. However, whether you perform a silent act to music, or an act that requires much more script, then being able to communicate more clearly through rhythm will be beneficial.
In this workshop we will explore how beats and rhythms can help to establish patterns of thinking in our audiences and accentuate the impact of magic and think through choices regarding the use of music in an act as well as a wider discussion of choreography.
If you are attending, it will be useful top bring a small number of props or simple tricks that have a visual nature (e.g. vanishing silk or salt, coins, sponge balls, items for manipulation etc.)
